SARA MEETING MINUTES - June 10, 2009 (approved
7/8/09)
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by
President Prescott Grey at precisely 7:30 PM. 16 members and one visitor (Joel Domshot) were in attendance.
Introductions: Joel Domschot was introduced. Don Wood. NM ARRL Section Mgr.
and the night's speaker was introduced. The SARA membership introduced themselves for Dons benefit.
Announcements:
The speaker for the July 8th SARA meeting will be Ed Wood,
"Message Passing and the Use of the ARRL Message Form."
Approval of Minutes: Moved (Johnson) and seconded
(Leavitt) to accept the minutes of the May 13, 2009 meeting. Passed.
Treasurer's Report: Jim Lommen reported that SARA balance = $5950.52 and TARA balance = $320.08
ARES Report: Mauger reported that this week amateur radio equipment was ordered for the EOC.
This included an ICOM 718 w/ tuner, a Yeasu 8800, an ICOM 706 and a Kantronics
TNC. ARES is attempting to arrange for a combination lock for the back door allowing amateurs to enter through the gate and into the building.
Fred Hollis wants ARES members to sign up with Fire Fighters for insurance coverage.
LEPC Report: None
Old Business:
Approval of signage is now understood to be the
domain of the Civitan Club, so we have to start over by meeting with them.
Leavitt moved to accept the proposed modifications
to the bylaws as presented at the May meeting. Frawley seconded. Approved.
Field Day Discussion of EOC operation and deployment of the trailer with two stations (one at each).
Details to be complete later.
Hamfest Grey asked about obtaining ARRL Sanction for
the 10/31/09 SARA/TARA Hamfest at the Fire Academy. Leavitt has done this
recently and will again for the 2009 hamfest. Grey has queried HRO about coming to SARA/TARA Hamfest. No commitment.
New Business - None
Good of the Organization
Riverine Park Contract Provisions of agreement with Bosque Task Force
communicated to membership. After some discussion, President Grey indicated that he would sign the agreement after requesting some modifications related to areas co be covered (not trails). Glenn Mauger will act as the SARA Representative to the Bosque Task Force meetings.
