SARA MEETING MINUTES - September 10, 2008
Meeting was called to order at
Michael Hudson of Farm Bureau Financial Services made the evening’s presentation on personal insurance considerations.
Approval of Minutes
Motion made (Johnson) to approve the minutes of the August meeting. The motion was seconded (Frawley) and passed.
Bill Brundage reported that as of August 31st, the SARA portion of the balance in the treasury was $3376.91. The
TARAbalance remained at $320.08
Repeater: Johnson reported that the repeater had to be disabled on the afternoon and evening of Wednesday, September 3 due to a strong signal capturing the input. Throughout that evening and the following morning, several member tracked the signal to the northern portion of Socorro, but could not identify the exact source. By the morning of September 4, the signal diminished (suggesting that a battery was the power source) and died. The repeater was reactivated and has been operating normally except that the autopatch is now not operational. Johnson's impression is that the controller will need to be reset and the commands reprogrammed.
LEPC: Bear Albrecht reported that the election of LEPC officers had been postponed until the following morning (9/11/08).
ARES: Jon Spargo reported that the statewide ARES is keen to develop a database of ARES members. SARA members are asked to complete the ARES registration form (currently available from the SARA web page) and to submit these to Spargo so they can be included. Glenn Mauger will ask for a listing of those at SARA who have completed FEMA training.
Johnson reported that tables are on reserve at NMT for the hamfest
October 8 was discussed as the deadline to have flyers in the mail
Glenn Mauger will order flyer addresses from the ARRL for 4000 specified zip codes.
