Getting the Club Legal - Ryan Snyder KC5WDT, report returned by State since we overpaid, a new check was sent but no information received back yet.
ARES - Jon Spargo KC5NTW said the specs have been received for the Wx Radio, cost estimate $108K, checking into applying for funding from Homeland Security. Antenna on MRO is not feasible due to lightning research project. NWS wants to do a Severe Storm Spotting Class sometime in early May. Jon resigned as coordinator for Socorro County due to time constraints and gave all documentation to Ed who agreed to fill in temporarily.
Other Stuff - Gov. Richardson issued an Executive Order that all emergency organizations must adopt National Incident Management System (NIMS), which is the Federal standard. There are 6 parts, and ARES must also attend. Ed Wood KD5MFS can instruct. All future requesters for emergency funding must have NIMS training. The course and quiz are available online at FEMA.gov and takes about 2 hours including the test for certification. The next step is the Incident Command Course - 1 1/2 days, not required but recommended.
Communications Trailer - Jon Spargo KC5NTW said the trailer is still in Moriarty, the completion date and estimated cost not final yet.
